howdens Joinery scooped the gold award at FIRA’s annual event at the House of Lords.
More than 280 people from the UK’s furniture industry were welcomed by Lord Hoyle to the meeting.
Howdens scooped the gold award for its 28mm domestic kitchen worktops, while Community Playthings and Morleys of Bicester Ltd won Certification Scheme for School Furniture awards.
FIRA managing director Hayden Davies confirmed his decision to move to a new role in international development at BM TRADA. He is succeeded by FIRA chief operating officer Johnny Westbrooke.
“The furniture industry faces a period of unprecedented change right now, and I’m confident that Johnny will work extremely hard on behalf of the industry to ensure a positive and prosperous future for all involved,” said Mr Davies.
