Howarth Timber Engineering has agreed to acquire Boise Building Products Ltd (BBPL).
BBPL, based at Upper Heyford, is one of the authorised dealers of Boise Engineered Wood Products selling a range of BCI I-joist products and VERSA-LAM LVL. The move is expected to help broaden Howarth’s customer base.
Boise Engineered Wood Products, based near Witney, is unaffected by the acquisition and will continue to concentrate on expanding its network of authorised dealers and promoting specification of the Boise brand.
“We announced our commitment to the Boise brand in June, and this planned acqusition underlines our determination to develop this sector of our business,” said Roger Smith, Howarth Timber Engineering’s managing director.
Mr Smith said the acquisition may take several months to complete, but the intention was to rebrand BBPL with the Howarth name.
