Austria-based timber products group Hasslacher Norica Timber has unveiled its strategy for the future during a celebration event to mark its 110th anniversary.

Customers, guests and staff joined with Hasslacher owner Christoph Kulterer at the group’s Sachsenburg base for the anniversary celebrations on September 23.

Mr Kulterer said the group had grown significantly in recent years and the product portfolio extended. “We can now present ourselves as a one-stop shop for building products in timber,” he said.

Dr Dieter Kainz, CEO, outlined Hasslacher’s strategy, which highlights the timber building systems business.

“A few months ago we started up the production of cross-laminated timber panels in Stall/Mölltal and successfully managed the continuation of the Buchacher Holzsystem, GmbH,” he said.

“Our strategic target is to steadily build on this continuing work and to raise the yield on our net product, our raw material, timber. At the same time as this development of timber building systems, this strategy also incorporates the fields of timber materials and energy.”

Hasslacher has an annual turnover of about €250m and around 900 employees. About 70% of products are exported, with prime markets being Italy, Germany, Spain, Slovenia, Serbia and Japan.

Products include sawn timber, planed timber, glulam, shuttering boards and wood pellets.
