Harlow Timber Systems Ltd has achieved Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes (PEFC) and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain of custody accreditation with BM TRADA Certification Ltd for its Bardon-based truss rafter manufacturing plant.

Managing director David Stockill said: “Certification of all products and raw material used is becoming more noticeable in the construction industry. It is being requested by the major contractors throughout our business; it is the way forward and will become the standard to which all manufacturers will have to comply if their wish to maintain their market share.”

Mr Stockill said there had been a noticeable increase in orders since the company had been able to display the environmental certification logos on its tenders.
