A kit of panels featuring soft edges won Hammonds INpress the contract to supply materials for the fitting out of canal narrow boats for Bromsgrove-based Black Prince Holidays.
The panels are in 15mm MDF finished in alder melamine to the reverse sides to colour match the PVC facing foil finish.
The first of the newly fitted boats has won the canal boat operator a SMART Fund Innovation Award for design.
Black Prince has 70 boats in total and Hammonds INpress is now supplying panels for refitting the rest of the fleet.
‘They’re working at the rate of about two boats a month,’ said Hammonds INpress technical manager Graham Case.
He added that the company had also had interest in its panel kits from other boat operators.
