Leo Hambro, managing director of Russian Timber Group (RTG) and a patron of Trees for Cities, was the top individual fund-raiser in the Tree-Athlon 5k run in Battersea Park, London on September 15.
Mr Hambro raised £2,425, winning a piece of woodland named in his honour and a year’s supply of bio products for this family. RTG also sponsored the event and among other company members taking part were non-executive director Peter Hambro and chairman Keith Jackson.
Fund-raising from this year’s race is expected to exceed last year’s £100,000 and the money will be used to support a range of tree-planting projects in the UK and internationally.
“It was a great pleasure to support this charity event and help increase public awareness of the environmentally-friendly benefits trees offer to city dwellers,” said Mr Hambro.
