Handrail and stair component manufacturer Haldane UK has completed its most complex handrail project to date at a private address in London.

The Glenrothes-based company made the American white oak handrail, designed by architect Fayette Associates, to follow the line of glass balustrading in a spiral staircase.

Haldane’s business development manager Scott Kennedy said the complex pitch and turns of the staircase left no room for error.

Components included a number of special raking wreaths and swan necks, plus an array of long ramps, drop ends and 180 degree bends.
