Limited site space and high specification were two of the challenges met by Guildford Timber Frame in a luxury Victorian-style development in Croydon.

The company designed, manufactured and erected the timber frame system for six four-storey houses at Milford Homes’ Swan Mews development.

A prefabricated 89mm stud structural frame with breather foil and 9mm OSB external sheathing was used to maximise available space on-site. Internal plasterboard was installed on site, together with mineral wool insulation, while the external finish was brick.

Floor cassettes were designed using Ecojoist beams to create larger than normal service zones for an increased level of services and wiring for hi-tech equipment, such as home automation systems.
