Shrewsbury-based timber fencing specialist GS Reeves has taken delivery of a pair of Nexen forklifts to cope with its expanding product range.
The two forklifts – from Nexen’s X-Range – join an existing fleet of four, which alongside the fencing timbers, are used to handle railway sleepers, telegraph poles and decking.
The new FDX3.5s are the first 3.5 tonne X-Range machines to be supplied by Nexen Lift Trucks in the UK, and have been specified with twin drive wheels for improved stability and traction.
Founded nearly 30 years ago, GS Reeves has grown to be a major supplier of timber products to a variety of customers within a 100-mile radius of its Wem base, including both DIY enthusiasts and major construction companies.
Commenting on the choice of the new forklifts, Pat Reeves said: “We have been very happy with the performance and reliability of our initial Nexen machine as well as the back-up support provided by local dealer, Tony’s Forklifts.”
