New legislation which encourages more use of wood products in highway signage in Louisiana could spell good news for the timber industry.
Southern Pine industry representatives met the Louisiana Department of Transportation where they were assured that new ideas, new technologies and policy changes that might increase the specification for wood were welcome.
Industry representatives will review the specifications and policies of neighbouring states, many of which seem to use more wood in their highway applications than Louisiana, and report back to the department.
