A £1m funding package from NatWest has enabled Middlesex-based timber importer and merchant Y Goldberg & Sons Ltd to secure its long-term future in the area.

Goldberg has used the money to fund the purchase of warehousing and land in Uxbridge, which it had previously leased from British Waterways.

The funding was arranged by Bristol-based parent company Ron Lewis Holdings Ltd, which worked with NatWest in Bristol to arrange a 100% loan to buy the 999-year leasehold. The company also manages fellow Bristol firm Clarks Wood Co Ltd, and acquired both businesses in a management buyout in 1986.
