The Ireland-based business with plants in Scotland began ground-breaking shipments to France through PBM Imports in 2009.
The first was a €1.5m contract to supply kiln-dried strength-graded material for the French housebuilding industry. Glennon Brothers said only its Irish mills were exporting to France and the business represented 10% of its Irish output.
At a ceremony this week in Rennes during an Enterprise Ireland trade mission, Glennon Brothers joint managing director Mike Glennon presented Jean Louis Camici, of PBM Imports, with an Irish bog oak sculpture.
They were joined by jobs, enterprise and innovation minister Richard Bruton and Irish ambassador Paul Kavanagh. “It is an incredible achievement to have grown the business from zero to €10m in such a short space of time,” said Mr Glennon. “PBM has been a loyal and supportive customer.”
