GL Floors of Midlothian completed the re-laying of a 1,340m² sports hall at Meadowbank Stadium, Edinburgh in just five days.
A 26-strong team used 30,000 nails to install up to 22 tonnes of Junckers flooring and 20 tonnes of chipboard underlay during a ‘window’ between events at the stadium which claims to have the second largest sports floor in Scotland.
GL Floors partner Martin Smith said: ‘Junckers solid hardwood flooring is pre-finished and press dried to 8% – ensuring there is no need for acclimatisation, the floor being ready for use immediately after laying. With such a critical timescale this was an essential factor in the choice of flooring.’
