Shipments of Ghanaian wood products increased 28% year-on-year during the first three months of the year, the International Tropical Timber Organisation’s Tropical Timber Market report has revealed.

Figures from the Ghana Timber Development Division show that exports of wood products rose from 106,892m3 to 136,898m3, with the volume of plywood shipments doubling year-on-year to 6,903m3.

Asia, the US and other African countries were key destinations for the increase in exports, with demand from Europe remaining stable.
