Spanish plywood manufacturer Garnica has officially opened its €12.2m new factory.

The 11,500m² factory has a production capacity of 60,000m³ per year, using poplar and other tropical wood species.

The investment will boost the Garnica group’s capacity to 200,000m³ per year.

Garnica decided to invest in a new factory because its existing Banos de Rio Tobia facility was located in an urban area which didn’t allow for any further expansion and the production processes were becoming old.

The new plant has been built on the outskirts of the village, allowing for future developments.

It allows the group to improve its product range, incorporating jumbo size plywood such as 3100×1530, 3100x1850mm and 3100x1350mm in poplar.
