Gang-Nail Systems is preparing for increased interest in “through floor” access due to growing use of mechanical ventilation and heat recovery systems (MVHR).
The company believes its Ecojoist open web floor joist will capitalise on the trend, due to the access afforded between timber flanges for MVHR ducting.
“Several major housebuilders have indicated that MVHR is their preferred method of meeting some of the demands of level three of the Code for Sustainable Homes,” said Paul Baron, managing director of Gang-Nail Systems.
“With legislative implementation of code level three anticipated by 2010, the pressure is on to find solutions that are workable, cost effective and time efficient.”
