Gate-leg tables and chairs made of European oak have been installed inside the restored Temple Bar archway, London.

Furniture maker Luke Hughes & Company, of Covent Garden, made the three tables and 20 chairs for the stone archway’s small upper chamber. The tables, when used alongside each other, form a conference table seating 20.

The tables were inspired by Sir Christopher Wren’s designs for the joinery in the library of neighbouring St Paul’s Cathedral, while the Academy chair is similar to a model used in Buckingham Palace.
