The public consultation paper is designed to attract input from anybody using the chain of custody standard or specifying products using the standard, as well as those who use the FSC system to deliver commitments to supporting responsible forestry, such as NGOs, retailers, public sector specialists and consultants.

Changes being considered by the FSC’s technical working group include whether timber merchants or harvesting contractors should be able to run volume credit schemes, lower threshold levels for the woodchip and fibre sector and whether volume credit should apply across different sites and countries.

Feedback from the discussion paper should be sent to FSC UK at info@fsc-uk.org by April 2.
