Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) International has launched an online survey to assess the implementation of its Standard for Company Evaluation of FSC Controlled Wood.

The standard is designed to ensure any illegally harvested wood is not used as part of the production of FSC Mixed goods, outlining “comprehensive requirements” that allow companies to establish an in-house verification programme for its supplies.

As of January this year, all chain of custody holding companies using non-FSC certified wood as part of their FSC mixed production were required to implement the standard.

The survey has been designed for FSC certificate holders and certifiers in order to allow FSC to “better understand the issues of implementing the standard”.

The results will be used to build case studies and improve decision-making ahead of future alternations to the FSC Controlled Wood Programme, and improve take-up of the standard.

The survey can be accessed here until September 10.
