The second Mediterranean Forest Week will be held in Avignon, France, from April 5-8.

During the event, forest stakeholders will address policy issues regarding forests’ role in the Mediterranean’s sustainable development, the impact of climate change on forest fire prevention strategies and key resources such as water.

During a press conference on April 6 new organisations will sign the Collaborative Partnership on Mediterranean Forests which aims to accelerate implementation of sustainable forest management and ensure sustainable production of goods and services.

The first Mediterranean Forest Week was held in Turkey last year.
