A forum being organised by the Wood Promotion Network in Vancouver will examine hundreds of successful wood product and forest communication efforts from around the world.
The Best Practices Forum in Wood Products and Forest Communications will have an extensive list of international speakers, including the minister of forests in British Columbia Mike De Jong, president of Bowater Pierre Monahan, executive director of the UK’s wood. for good Charles Trevor, and managing director of the Nordic Timber Council Jan Söderlind.
The Wood Promotion Network, a coalition of North American companies promoting the benefits of using wood, believes the challenges facing most forest and wood product industries are shared worldwide and that solutions are often transferable.
It says sharing and expanding successes reduces fragmentation and improves overall efficiency.
The forum will be held at the Delta Pinnacle Hotel on October 5-8.
