West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service sent five firecrews to the 13-acre Denholme site, where a 20mx30m storage shed was 100% affected by fire.

Other specialist vehicles attended the incident which was reported at 3.30am. An office block was also believed to have been involved.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation, with arson suspected.

Local paper the Telegraph & Argus reported that vandalism and several earlier smaller fires had occurred at the site in previous weeks.

CR Taylor manufactured roof trusses and spandrel beams, as well as supplying a range of engineered timber products such as I-joists, metal web joists and timber products.

It went into administration in July, followed by a sale of assets. However, the site itself was not handled by administrators as it is held in trust with the Taylor family, who are currently looking to sell it to a housing developer.
