Japan’s sluggish economy and high unemployment are prompting more people to seek work in its forestry sector.
According to its Forestry Agency a record 12,000 people, many of them unemployed, attended forest-related work seminars in recent months.
The numbers were also boosted by those wanting to return to their home towns from urban centres.
