Dr Robert McIntosh, director of environment and forestry directorate at the Scottish government, was appointed a CBE. Dr McIntosh, who joined the Forestry Commission in 1973 as a trainee district officer in Thetford, is also director of Forestry Commission Scotland.

David Kingsnorth, a Forestry Commission community ranger in East Anglia for 24 years, was awarded an MBE for services to forestry and voluntary services through the Suffolk Special Constabulary.

Tony Willis, former managing director of Euroforest, and the inaugural chairman of Confor, received an OBE.
