A major training and business development project is under way with the opening of the Forestry Contracting Association‘s (FCA) first management base in Wales.

The office at Aberystwyth, which has opened with support from the Forestry Commission, Welsh Development Agency (WDA) and Welsh European Funding Office, will house FCA field staff Tommy Groat and Ian Sheffner.

Sue Wolfe, WDA business development manager, said Aberystwyth was developing as a central location for forestry and timber sector activity, not least due to the concerted efforts and growing impact of the FCA work.
