The UK softwood sawlog price index was 7.1% higher in the six months to September, compared with a year ago.
The latest National Statistics on Timber Price Indices, produced by the Forestry Commission and based on the organisation’s sales, also show that the average price for coniferous standing sales was £14.77 per m³ overbark standing in the year to September.
The Coniferous Standing Sales Price Index was 16% higher in real terms.
