The Hartlebury-based company said its production levels were more than four times the normal level. Extra workers will help maintain quick delivery times to garden centres and retailers across the country.

“The beginning of 2014 has brought with it some incredibly challenging weather, and as a result we have had to ramp up our production levels to meet demand for product across the board,” said Guy Grainger, Forest Garden group chief executive.

The jobs growth follows shortly after Forest Garden acquired M&M Timber, another major Worcestershire-based timber garden products manufacturer.
