Community forest management and enterprises: global issues and opportunities is to be staged from July 16-20 in Rio Branco, Brazil, and has been organised to promote the role of communities in forest-based projects and raise global awareness of the contributions they can make to economies, social climates and tackling climate change, the International Tropical Timber Organisation (ITTO) has said.

ITTO, the Rights and Resources Initiative, the Global Alliance of Community Forestry and the World Conservation Union, the event’s organisers, are expecting more than 250 representatives from countries such as Ghana, Mexico and Papua New Guinea to attend the five-day meeting.
