Fletcher Challenge Forests has become a majority shareholder in US wood mouldings distributor The Empire Company.
New Zealand-based Fletcher Forests was due to increase its shareholding from one-third to two-thirds this month, at a cost of US$10m.
The company said it will buy the remaining one-third of the US company’s shares at a future date.
