Some £17.5m of EU cash is to be made available to forestry projects in five of the UK’s Objective 1 funding regions.
The money will come from the EU’s structural funds between now and 2006, with west Wales apportioned £9.7m, Cornwall £3m, Merseyside £1.5m, south Yorkshire £1.6m, and the Highlands and Islands £1.7m.
