A First Nations group in British Columbia claims to have seized more than C$50m worth of logs from Weyerhaeuser.

The council of Haida Nations has blockaded roads at two of the company’s log sorting yards on the Queen Charlotte Islands and put up notices saying they have seized logs.

Protestors claim the provincial government has failed to properly consult the Haida about Brascan’s purchase of timber licences from Weyerhaeuser.
