Soil Association Woodmark has issued its first FSC certificate in Slovakia.
The certificate was issued to the Pre’ov State Forest District – at 48,159ha the largest, set in Eastern Slovakia. Three chain of custody certificates were also issued to timber processors within the district.
Dr Roman Reh, president of the Timber Processors Federation, Slovakia said: ‘The key to unlocking the benefits from FSC certification will come through the export of value added timber products into Western European markets.’
