Scottish joinery component supplier Haldane (UK) Ltd has invested £10,000 in winning hour and half-hour fire rating for its timber glazing beads.
Haldane managing director Forrester Adam said that the investment was designed to supply joinery manufacturers with fire-rated components so that they could more readily fire rate completed joinery products.
‘Fire testing has traditionally been left to the door manufacturer to achieve; however, we can now hand over fully fire rated beads to our customers. They can then incorporate them into their products and be confident that all the components of the products are fully fire rated,’ he said.
The move sees the company’s 600mm circular bead, its ladder frame and its D-shape all achieving the half-hour status and its circular beads up to 500mm diameter certified to one hour under BS476 parts 20 and 22.
