The event in Hanover on October 10-12 will feature 27 high-level presentations, including two by European Commission representatives. One of these will tackle the consequences for wood-based panels of the implementation of the EU construction products regulation – the CPR – (compared to the Construction Products Directive).

The CPR is already in force but its main parts will be activated from July 1, 2013. It is intended to clarify the basic concepts of CE marking, simplify procedures and increase credibility for the whole system.

Other presentations include BASF’s Stephan Weinkötz talking about lightweight panels using BASF’s Kaurit Light technology, optimising panel production, and new shear strength methods to evaluate the bonding quality of cross-laminated timber panels.

EPF president Ladislaus Döry will give an update on the current situation facing the European wood-based panel industries.

The Maritim Airport Hotel will be the setting for the conference. For more details and to book contact the EPF at info@europanels.org
