A Hudderfield joinery has been destroyed by fire.

EW Lumb was hit by fire on December 15 and the workshop so badly damaged it required demolition.

The business in Outlane caused the adjacent M62 slip road to be closed for much of the day.

Ray Wilson, the 1966 World Cup winning footballer, used to work at the company in the 1970s. His father-in-law, Ernest Lumb, set up the joinery and undertaking business in a four-storey building in New Hey Road.
