The Finsa panel plant in Scariff, Ireland is consulting employees over proposed redundancies.
Local newspaper The Clare Champion quoted a Finsa source as saying that it had entered into a 30-day consultation period and was seeking 16 redundancies.
The chipboard factory made some redundancies a year ago.
A Finsa spokesperson told TTJ that the company would make a statement following discussions with staff.
