Finnish sawnwood and plywood production both shrunk during the first quarter of the year.
Sawnwood output fell 2% during January-March 2002 to 3.37 million m3, while plywood production reduced 5% to 288,000m3.
Production of birch plywood was almost 128,000m3, down 13% on the first quarter of 2001. Softwood plywood production rose 3% during the quarter.
