Finnforest and its engineering arm, Merk, are working with Portuguese architects Álvaro Siza and Eduardo Souto de Moura and Cecil Balmond of Arup to build the Summer 2005 Serpentine Gallery Pavilion in London’s Kensington Gardens.

A series of interlocking timber trusses made from Finnforest Kerto-S LVL will create the curvaceous form of the pavilion. All the Kerto elements will be made at Finnforest’s Kerto plants in Finland and cut to size at a Merk factory in Germany.

Finnforest will work with Arup to deliver the engineering solution that will allow the architects’ vision to be realised, and Finnforest Merk will supply the labour and construction management on site.
