Finnforest plans a £4m investment in its manufacturing capabilities next year as part of a long-term strategy to renew and upgrade its sites.

Two million pounds will be invested in improving Finnforest’s softwood manufacturing capabilities through the acquisition of a state-of-the-art replacement line.

And to meet customer demand for Finnforest’s door linings and casings, part of the investment will be made on machinery that can handle this requirement and also provide greater flexibility and add end matched or TG4 flooring and cladding to the company’s portfolio.

The final area of development will be the purchase of a second Hundegger machine which will be based at Finnforest’s Grangemouth site. The company has found that its existing Hundegger machine, currently operating at its Hull premises, offers the flexibility to meet changing customer requirements and add value to its glulam and Kerto products through further processing.
