The building, which was plagued with delays and cost overruns, was originally supposed to cost £50m. The main debating chamber features glulam sections spanning up to 24m.
Problems with a loose beam caused by a faulty bolt last year cost £500,000 in repairs and forced MSPs to relocate.
The presiding officer said none of the firms involved in the construction of the building would be sued.
