Fercell Engineering Ltd has become a distributor for German wireless technology provider Frieters.

Aylesford-based Fercell said the technology can further aid dust extraction efficiency at woodworking companies and reduce energy use.

Fercell sales director Mark Fletcher said the intelligent solutions technology could control operations such as filter cleaning times, opening slide gate dampers, starting extraction, operating lights and monitoring the spark detection/extinguishing system.

He said disadvantages of traditional wired systems included the human error element of manual operation of gates, inflexibility of wiring when expanding factories and the inability to control ancillary machines.

The wireless solution’s Windows-based software produces a report, which can be viewed on a smartphone, with graphics including machine energy use, pressure levels, and how much dust is on the filters/in the air.

Fercell is planning an open day demo of the technology at its premises and will post video demonstrations on its website and on You Tube.
