Kronospan’s Hungarian chipboard manufacturing operation Falco has been awarded Californian Air Resources Board (CARB) certification.

The company said achieving the certification, which relates to air quality and limitation of pollutants, is confirmation of its strategy of investing in new equipment.

Falco said it was now able to deliver E-LE chipboard. Falco produces raw chipboard, melamine-face chipboard, worktops and Betonyp building boards – cement-bonded chipboard for more demanding applications.

Falco was founded in 1939 and became a state-owned sawmilling business, before becoming the first chipboard producer in Hungary in 1959. It joined the Kronospan group in 2007 and the following year it made a €25m investment in quality improvements and capacity.
