Maurice Reid was accused of grading timber as high-strength MGP 10 and misleading the public, for which CHH was fined NZ$900,000 in October last year.
Mr Reid pleaded guilty to 17 charges of false grading, which is believed to involve 20,000 homes built between July 2000 and December 2002.
