Information technology and its role in improving the prospects of wood in construction will be the thrust of the fifth Eurowood symposium to be held in Bordeaux on March 1-2.
Eurowood is the umbrella body for Europe’s timber research and technical organisations and the Bordeaux symposium is being organised by the French technical centre for wood and furniture.
IT applications covered in the programme include web portals, supply chain management, environmental issues, innovative products, process and construction systems, design, manufacturing and standards. Engineers from TRADA Technology will present a paper on the IT toolbox approach to connection design.
