Euroscan (Timber Products) Ltd has secured the UK agency for Nordlam and Gloeckel, two companies in the Rubner Group.
Germany-based Nordlam produces glulam beams from its factory in Magdeburg, while Austrian company Gloeckel, based near Vienna, specialises in delivering timber building projects, including large curved glulam beams.
Nordlam, which manufactures 160,000m³ of glulam a year, and Gloeckel had already achieved some UK sales success but feel permanent representation is needed in the country to grow business.
They also want to explore possibilities in the government contract sector and develop contacts with construction companies, architects and specifiers to promote the benefits of glulam as a beautiful, sustainable and low-carbon building material.
Euroscan’s Helen Gowans said the agency’s German speaking capabilities helped to clinch the deal with both companies.
