A team from Eton College won the overall prize in wood. for good‘s Design a Bridge competition.

The team’s entry in the 16-19-year-old category was presented with its prize by construction minister Nigel Griffiths at a ceremony at the Institution of Civil Engineers on Tuesday.

The Malvern Young Engineers team was highly commended.

Other prize winners were: age 12 or under category – Newland House School; age 12-16 – Bishop Perowne CE High School; age 16-19 – Eton College.

More than 130 teams from across the UK entered the competition which required them to design a bridge that would look good and work well as an engineering structure.
