The appointment is the first of three posts created as the company completes a move to larger premises to handle a significant increase in business.

Funding from Scottish Enterprise helped the firm relocate to larger premises at Muirhead Park in the Kirkcaldy’s Mitchelston Industrial Estate.

The move is expected to double the Kirkcaldy workforce over the next two years.

Mr Corns has worked in the wood industry for 10 years, having completed a four-year apprenticeship in wood machining at Lauder College in Fife and achieving his SNVQ.

Kirkcaldy operations director Steve Goodlad said Mr Corns specialised in bespoke joinery and brought a wealth of experience to the firm.

EPS Services and Tooling specialises in the manufacture and servicing of wide bandsaws and cutting tools for the timber industry.

The company’s turnover has risen by 27% since 2008.
