The company has installed a wide bandsaw stellate production cell, comprising a Shark 750 CNC grinder, and Baracuda side grinder, both from Kolbacher, and a Stingray stellite tipper from Vaninetti.
The new technology, said managing director Nick Palmer, was needed to meet demand.
"It will also drive our efficiency and further improve our production quality," he said. "It is a major development for us and underlines our long-term commitment to develop and grow the business."
The company has also expanded its workforce this year, taking its total across the business to 38, and is now looking for a further trainee to put through its 18-month saw doctoring apprenticeship scheme.
"We already took on a couple of youngsters this year who we’re hoping will graduate to the scheme, and now we have a space for at least a further trainee, if we can find the right candidate," said Mr Palmer.
The apprenticeship, he added, covers a range of skills in tooling technology and processes, and both new saw manufacturing and servicing and repairs.
At its new 6,600ft2 Kirkaldy site, EPS is investing £800,000 in new production equipment and facilities. It says the expansion will enable it to build its Scottish, north of England and Irish business.
