Paul Davidson has been appointed to the new post of chief executive for the UK and Ireland operations of the European Pallet Association Ltd (EPAL).

EPAL, which is the largest pallet pool in the world with 500 million pallets in circulation, has seen a 60% growth in production in mainland Europe in the past three years and says there is an opportunity for the UK and Ireland to follow that trend.

Mr Davidson is a former Timcon president. He also played a central role in the growth of Crofton Pallets, and made a major contribution to the smooth transition when Scott Timber acquired the company in 2006.
