Expertise in environmental sciences is now available at the touch of a button.
The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), which funds and manages earth system science in the UK, has set up a website listing scientists and researchers who are experts in various environmental fields.
Sectors targeted include the marine environment, biotechnology, climate forecasting, land use, waste and pollution, construction and engineering and other related areas.
NERC commercial manager Dr Jane Metcalfe said: “Businesses often have trouble finding the right experts for the job. This new service will make it easier for the reesearch and business sectors to form partnerships.
“For instance, a construction company might want to assess the environmental impact of its work but not know how to go about it.”
The website, at www.nerc.ac.uk will, she said, give a starting point.
